Licensing Requirements
For Jordanian Nationals
If you are Jordanian holding a valid national number and of a minimum age of 16 years old you are entitled to apply for RJRAS membership by filing an application form, Once the approval proses is done you have to take a Ham Radio exam once you pass a call signs will be issued.
For (Resident) Non Jordanian Nationality
If you are Resident Non Jordanian holding a current Ham license in your country of origin is entitled to apply for RJRAS membership by filing an application form, upon submitting the application form you have to present the following.
- A copy of your current valid Ham license.
- A copy of your current valid passport.
- A copy of your current valid residency visa.
- A copy of your current valid work permit (if applicable).
- A permanent location (Your QTH or home address in Jordan with coordinates).
Once the approval proses is done a JY9xx call sign will be issued.
For (Non Resident) Non Jordanian Nationality
If you are Non Resident Non Jordanian visiting Jordan for a short period of time you are welcome to visit and operate from RJRAS HQ (JY6ZZ) during working hours for any number and length of time that you wish by presenting your QSL card and a copy of your current valid home license.
Special arrangement can be made for non-Jordanians in case you wish to operate from Jordan or participate in special events or contests providing appropriate approvals are obtained at least 3 months in advance.
Equipment import requirements
If you have a current valid Jordanian Ham license you can import new or your own equipment, once the equipment are at customs a TRC type approval and permit for customs clearance must be obtained.
